Pure presence - seeing what is, exactly now, without adding anything.
This is the gate of the present moment, the only door that is ever actually open. Its shadow is superficiality, skimming across now while living in commentary. Its gift is self-assurance: existence justified by being here, entirely, without addition.
The practice is the simplest and steepest: return. Return to the breath, to the sensation, to what is, ten thousand times without resentment. Each return thins the dreaming. What finally remains needs no return, because it never leaves; that unbroken intimacy with now is presence.
Superficiality → Self-Assurance → Presence
